A video showing Replicant running has been asked several times since now. We thought it would be a really a nice idea to make such a video available. The video is ready now and it shows the HTC Dream running a Replicant 2.2 pre-0009 preview image, featuring various aspects of the system (booting, Android User Interface, incoming and outgoing calls with the free RIL, Android apps, USB Networking, FDroid and GPS among other things).
This video itself is available under the Creative Commons BY-SA license, but other licenses may apply to the audio tracks (see on the video).
The audio doesn’t include any voice comment but the video comes along with subtitles that could easily be translated. The video is available in the free WebM video format on a 360p resolution, both with subtitles hardcoded (for English only) or with subtitles on a separate file.

Hi guys, since you all seemed to be afk on IRC I’m posting this here: I translated the subtitles file in Turkish. It’s in SRT format, synced with the OGG Theora version (didn’t download the others) and encoded in UTF-8. It’s up for grabs at http://ge.tt/84qbJw7
Also, please note that there seem to be two syntax errors in your srt files.
4700:06:21,500 --> 00:06:24:000
should be
4700:06:21,500 --> 00:06:24,000
and
4800:06:24,500 --> 00:06:26:000
should be
4800:06:24,500 --> 00:06:26,000
In other words, to prevent some video players from crashing two colon characters need to be replaced with commas. Finally, I know I’m nitpicking but there’s a little typo in
3900:05:20,500 --> 00:05:28,000
The list of avilable free software is quite long!
“avilable” should be “available”

Will this work with Nokia 5230? I would like to give this a try.
Apparently, Nokia 5230 doesn’t run Android and isn’t supported by CyanogenMod either. As a result, we cannot support this phone on the Replicant project (so we cannot provide images that will work on this phone).

Great project and initiative! I hope it grows fast.
Suggestion: The installation tutorial is way too summarized. It is not obvious to new users. Consider adding more details. Installation tutorial in particular should be so clear that it would be impossible to miss it, and lower the barriers for users to try it.
